Hello everyone, hope you are doing well. It’s been amazing day today, I’m finally in Toronto. I had a 3 hour flight from Saskatoon to Toronto and landed in Toronto International Airport.

Chaperone-Courtny was waiting for all Saskatchewan’s delegates at the airport. She greeted us well, and let I go get food while we were waiting for the bus. Thank you Courtny❤️.

After long day Miss Teenage Canada delegates were invited to the Welcome party where all of us got to meet our wonderful sponsors.

At 6:30 pm we entered into the ballroom on the top of  the Airport Holiday Inn in Toronto to attend the Opening Ceremonies of the 2016 Search for Miss Teenage Canada. I was feeling excited and little nervous.

I got to meet all of Miss Teenage Canada’s sponsors, they all were nice and friendly with us.

Okay, okay, now I’ll  tell you who are the sponsors and how great their products/service is .

So the first sponsor is:

Hello my favorite, I want to share with you about my favorite and biggest city in Saskatchewan.
Saskatoon
When you’re visiting Canada, Saskatoon isn’t always a name that appears at the top of the tourist lists. But it is the largest city in Saskatchewan and one of the fastest growing in the country. It is also one of the youngest cities in Canada, with a median age of just. this is also is my home town.image
There’s so much to do in Saskatoon. Give yourself a few days to explore. Enjoy a coffee in the beautiful Broadway district, or grab a bite at one of the many restaurants.
If you visit at the end of June, you’ll catch the Saskatchewan Jazz Festival. This takes place between 24th June and 3rd July. It covers not only jazz, but also hip-hop, punk, pop, and more.image The festival welcomes hundreds of international artists and 85,000 fans. If you would stay for another week after Jazz Festival you can catch Taste of Saskatchewan Festival.
During the summer,Saskatoon hosting so many festivals and events that you definitely should visit it.
Saskatoon is also known as the city of bridges, and there are 400 acres of riverbank and trails to explore.image

Saskatoon is divided by the South Saskatchewan River. During your visit, make sure you appreciate its full splendour by taking a riverboat cruise. This will provide you with a completely different perspective of the city.

Saskatoon delivers great food, cultural diversions, and a thriving river and city scene. If this sounds like your kind of holiday, then add Saskatoon to your bucket list.  It won’t disappoint.

Canada day was awesome!cRUH7-YJVnI

I enjoyed volonteering for Saskatoon Optimist Club and PotashCorp. It was really fun giving away flags, pins and glow sticks. Kids were more than happy than what i expected. they were calling me princess and following me everywhere where I would go. Couple kids said that I looked alike young Queen Elizabeth, I think it is a great honor to be called so. PSWytcSZjHU

My favourite part of this day was part before fireworks, when kids asked me to dance with them. I wish we could celebrate Canada Day twice a year.j6EUjh84XFA

Big thanks to PotashCorp and Saskatoon Optimist Club for giving me the opportunity to celebrate on a very special way. Happy Birthday Canada, I love you.

My platform is on the based to help and support kids who are diagnosed with costly and terminal diseases. Kids do not deserve to live a life like this, and I want to help them realize how wonderful life is.

Each and every day, there are thousands of children across the nation who are diagnosed with terminal and costly diseases such as Cancer,Superior Mesenteric Artery Syndrome,Muscular Dystrophy,Down’s Syndrome, etc. My goal is to support and help them as much as I can. Every time when I see kids who are diagnosed with any of this kinds of diseases I just want to hug them. Most of this kids are limited to the most of activities, they do not know how cool is to play basketball, football, volleyball. There is a lot of things that kids with those diseases can’t do, and it makes me sad.thth (1)

We have been super busy all week with rehearsals and touring the city! But today we were able to go to bowmanville zoo and see some cool animals as well as hang out with a baby lion and tiger! We then headed to the eaton mall and got to eat at the richtree market place. They had a retro taco and burrito bus. Which was super cool. I’vimagee never seen anything like that before so it was pretty neat. All 82 of us girls where lucky enough to order whatever we wanted on the menimageu. I ordered the chipotle beef tacos. When I had my first bite I thought wow. It was something I’ve never tried before and I liked it. I love spicy food, and this had the perfect amount of a kick to it. When I finished my tacos I had to top it off with something sweet! I ordered a raspberry milkshake that had white chocolate chunks in it, and let me say it was so good I drank that thing faster than you can say rich tree market! If I ever come back to Toronto and the Eaton centre I will be sure to go back there to eat. We also headed to the Yorkdale mall which we they were kind enough to give us gift cards to spend in the mall. Which I used towards a pair of cute leggings in Victoria secret! We then finished off the day by going to medieval times. The show was really neat to see as well as the food there was delicious. Seeing the horses prance around and the men fighting was neat. So far my trip has been going really well! And I’m excited for the competition to continue the next few days!

My platform is the Canadian mental health association. I feel that mental health is something that people ignore. There is a stigma about someone who has a mental disorder. They feel that the person is unstable or crazy, when really they don’t know what that person may be going through. I chose mental health as my platform because someone very close to me and who I love has a mental illness. You have to be strong for the people you care about so they know it’s okay.

Mental illnesses are very common. So many people will develop a mental illness in their lifetime and we are unaware of it. From anxiety to depression. I feel that we should all become more aware. If I became Miss Teenage Canada I would try and spread my platform as much as possible by hosting fundraisers to raise money towards research, and doing public speaking about mental illnesses. Anything that will make the world more informed.

In Canada only 1 in 5 children who need mental health services receives them. Mental illnesses can happen to any one, any age. The brain is so powerful and amazing at what it can do. Sometimes pieces just don’t quite fit together. Some people just don’t realized that it’s an illness just like diabetes or MS, but others don’t think they’re crazy. I strongly feel that we should be all educated.

Let’s end the stigma!

Canada- our home and native land. If someone asked me “could you define Canada as a whole?”, I would say “absolutely not”. Canada is such an amazing place with so many differences from land to languages it would be impossible to define Canada as one. Living in a small town in Saskatchewan the only thing I don’t like are the roads, they’re a tad bit bumpy! Something great about my hometown Turtleford, is we are the home of the largest turtle in Canada.

The first thing that will come to mind for many when they think of Canada is hockey or lacrosse as our national sport. Lacrosse is originally played as a ritual by the native Americans and then later among the non-aboriginal people in the mid-1800’s. The national lacrosse association in Canada was formed in 1867. This sport has been around for many years and played by so many people. Hockey is usually know as the most popular sport in Canada. Its pretty popular in Saskatchewan because it’s always freezing outside! Hockey started in Montreal in 1875, then later became wide spread in our country.

Canada being as great as it is has invented a few things. Basketball being one of them. A man named James Naismith invented the sport in 1891. The poutine made in Quebec in the 1950’s. Snowmobiles invented by Joseph-Armand Bombardier in 1937 which gets used pretty often in the winter months! Medicinal Insulin invented by Fredrick Banting in 1922. The baggage tag (which will help us get to Toronto!) invented by John Micheal Lyons in 1882. These are only a few cool things Canada made available to us. Gay marriage in Canada had been legalized in 2005 becoming the 4th country to legalize it. This makes Canada pretty great along with free health care which became available in 1984. Free healthcare is very important for many people. There are many fun facts that I could keep rambling about, but this blog could go on way to long.

Canada is such a great country for having opportunity and diversity. Canada gets many people that enter the country and we are always welcoming newcomers. Canada is an amazing place to fit in. We all know that it can be hard to fit in, and it’s nice to know that our country allows someone to feel welcomed or at home.

The different lands of Canada are beautiful and spectacular. It differs from east to west; Rocky Mountains, plains, forest, the Canadian shield, the maritimes, lakes, and cities . We have all of these awesome places at our fingertips for everyone to see, and that everyone should see! I’ve been to only a few of the provinces in Canada but I plan to visit them all. In a few short weeks I get to visit Toronto for the first time and I’m pretty excited!

I am very proud of the country I live in! We have so many amazing things to be proud of. All of Canada’s features help define us but not as one. Each province has so many different things. There isn’t just one thing great about Canada’s there so many things. I’m proud to be a Canadian!
